At Holsworthy Community College, we do not underestimate that selecting Key Stage 4 Options for the Key Stage 4 programme of study will be a challenging, yet ultimately rewarding, process. This is a very exciting time for Year 9 students, and indeed for you, therefore the procedure is designed for our student’s best interest.

During Year 9 (ages 13-14) your child will choose which subjects to study at Key Stage 4 (Years 10 to 11, ages 14-16). HCC will give your child information about subject choices, and will also arrange an options event. This is designed to ensure that all students receive the necessary help and guidance needed to make suitable subject choices. It will also be helpful if you discuss their choices with them thinking about their future Career path.

We believe that students should have access to have a broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 4 that provides them with ample opportunities for their future development. Keeping a broad range of subjects will result in a wider range of future opportunities.
