Pupil Support
At Holsworthy Community College, we are proud to offer a strong and compassionate pupil support system that ensures every young person feels safe, valued, and able to succeed.
Our Pupil Coaches play a key role in providing full safeguarding support across the College. They work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure that any concerns are identified early and appropriate support is put in place.
Several members of the team are trained in social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) support, enabling them to help students who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, friendship difficulties, or other challenges. Their aim is to create a safe space where students feel listened to and understood.
Pupil Coaches also support students with:
-
Attendance and reintegration, helping students feel confident and comfortable in school and supporting a positive return to education where needed.
-
In-lesson behavioural support, working alongside teaching staff to help students who may find classroom environments challenging.
-
Academic mentoring, encouraging students to stay engaged and develop positive learning habits.
In addition, we have an Early Help Co-ordinator, who works with families and external agencies to provide timely support when additional guidance or intervention may be needed. This ensures that students and families receive the right help at the right time.
More information regarding what our Early Help Co-ordinator can help with can be found here.
At Holsworthy Community College, pupil support is built on relationships, understanding, and a commitment to helping every student thrive - both in and beyond the classroom.
