Inclusive practice in Mathematics promote clarity in our subject and support confidence by using clear routines and consistent modelling. Lessons are structured to support memory, organisation, and independent problem-solving.

Examples of Adapt in Practice in Maths Lessons:

· Teachers model carefully sequenced, worked examples using a consistent method.

· Students show full workings to help organise thinking and reduce memory load.

· Mini whiteboards are used as a low-stakes opportunity to try ideas.

• Numeracy Ninjas sessions are delivered during tutor time to develop fluency in key mathematical skills.
• Numeracy is embedded across the curriculum where students apply mathematical understanding in different subjects.
• Sparx Maths supports independent practice, retrieval and homework completion.
• Students are encouraged to explain their mathematical thinking and use accurate mathematical vocabulary.
• Regular opportunities are provided for retrieval practice and application of key mathematical concepts.

Students are identified through CAT scores, teacher assessment and mathematics attainment data and may access:

• Small-group mathematics intervention.
• Targeted programmes focusing on key mathematical skills identified by the Mathematics Department.
• DoodleMaths personalised intervention programme.
• Mathematical peer mentoring.
• Adapted numeracy-focused homework.
• Regular assessment and review to ensure intervention remains responsive to student need.
